Sleeping in my own bed again was wonderful, even if I was waking up between midnight and three in the morning for the first days, thinking it was time to get up. All the time changes, losing hours, gaining hours, losing an entire day (going), gaining an entire day (returning), the many take-offs and landings from the many airplane trips between cities. My internal clock was all out of sync for the first couple of weeks after I got home!
Happily, three days after I got home, my good friends from the A.T., Greenstone and Thimbleberry stopped by for a short visit! They were just finishing up with a five-week NOMADS project in Wichita Falls, Tx. and really went out of their way to come to Edgewood to see us and I am so thankful that they did! {We really enjoyed our visit last July to their beautiful home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.}
When they come to visit us, they bring their "winter home" with them.
I think I spend a lot of time on the computer, but I think Greenstone has me beat! (I saw him fall asleep at his laptop!)
The morning after they arrived, we went to the No.1 British Flying Training School Museum in Terrell.
From 1941-1945, before the U.S. joined WWII, the British secretly sent their soldiers to Terrell for pilot training (more than 2,000 pilots trained here!).
Next we went to the Dallas Arboretum. It was "tulip season"! It was difficult to pick just a few photos, of the more than one hundred photos that I took while there, to upload to this blog post. I've never seen so many different colors of tulips! Of course the Dallas Arboretum is always meticulously landscaped and gorgeous!
This long row of crepe myrtles will be awesome this Summer when they will be in full bloom!
A few early-blooming azaleas...
This peacock's flowing tail had recently been planted with round patches of pansies encircled with dusty miller.
After "overdosing" on all the gorgeous flowers we made our way downtown to "pat the steers". An amazing, larger than life sculpture display right in the middle of downtown Dallas!
A sculpture's rendition of a cattle drive....
Look at that cowboy's horse, tucking its head, giving those steers the "eye"! "Get along little dogie" !
An entire city block (high-dollar real estate, I'm sure!) devoted to a spectacular public space! This old cemetery covers one side of the property and the cattle drive covers the other side, right in the middle of the high-rise office buildings and the busy streets of vibrant downtown Dallas.
We left downtown before the afternoon rush-hour traffic began and headed back to Terrell where Greenstone and Thimbleberry treated us to a delicious late lunch/early dinner of Mexican food at our favorite Terrell restaurant, Dos Aces.
After eating we drove around town looking at Terrell's artist project: building murals!
Thank you Greenstone and Thimbleberry for visiting our humble abode and sharing your enthusiasm for a day of sightseeing with us!
We always enjoy your visits here!
G.& T. had to leave the following morning. Prior commitments were calling them back to the "northern lands" {Michigan}.

In my next blog post, I will share my trip to Branson, Missouri with my sister Norma.
We enjoyed our visit very much, even though it was rather brief. Thank you for being great hosts! Love, G & T
