Before the end of June, we planned one last trip to Big Canoe, Georgia to see Tom's brother, Tim, and wife Kathy, before their big move clear across the country to Spokane, Washington. Helped them with a little last minute packing and as always enjoyed our time together.
Tim had ordered two PODS to be delivered to his driveway and the following day the moving crew that Tim had contracted with showed up to load up all their earthly belongings.
Unfortunately, all did not fit into the two PODS resulting in Tim renting and then driving a small moving truck to carry the remainder.
Their luxurious mountain home in Big Canoe, Georgia is for sale if anyone is interested.

At the end of June we went to Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma.
We pitched our tent in in the Cypress Campground loop in the State Park.
We walked just a few hundred feet from our camping spot down to the Old Park Dam.
Such a serene setting, sitting along the edge of the Mountain Fork River.
However the following afternoon water was being released from the power plant just upstream from where we were camped and the water level rose considerably as the river POURED over the old dam, completely covering the rocks below along the edge that we had enjoyed sitting on just yesterday.
The power of moving water is never to be underestimated!
We really enjoyed our first night camped at the Cypress Campground but by the second night the campground had filled up and wouldn't you know it a rowdy group of folks moved in all around one side of us and behind us AND the kids and adults played loud music and hollered and screamed while playing outdoor games until almost 4 o'clock in the morning! Never mind that there were signs posted (as in all state parks) "Quiet Time 10:00 p.m.". I reckon these folks thought those rules did not apply to them! The elderly couple that was the Camp Hosts lived in a nearby travel trailer but I guess they took out their hearing aids when they went to bed because no one ever came out to tell this rowdy group to quiet down. Tom did get out of our tent and said we were trying to sleep over here. Did not do any good though.
Needless to say, we were up packing up our campsite at 6:00 a.m., not even trying to be quiet either, with little sleep we were just ready to get home.
We always enjoy our trips up to the mountains of Oklahoma. It is such a beautiful area around Broken Bow Lake!
